Any condition can be considered by Social Security in determining if a person is disabled. The following list represents some of the conditions Social Security will consider and includes conditions from which some of our clients have suffered.

Cardiovascular problems, such as heart attack, cardiac problems, stroke, coronary artery disease

Problems of the digestive system, such as Crohn's disease, liver disease, hepatitis

Renal diseases, nephritis

Hematological disorders, including anemia, sickle cell

Problems of the endocrine system, including thyroid disorders or diabetes

Neurological problems, such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis (MS), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease, stroke, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy

Mental disorders, including mental retardation, autism, affective disorders, depression, bi-polar disorder, manic syndrome, anxiety, paranoia, schizophrenia, learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and attention deficit disorder (ADD)

Malignant diseases, such as cancer, Hodgkin's disease, leukemia

Disorders of the immune system, such as HIV/AIDS

Conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), chronic pain syndrome, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory arthritis, lupus
