Social Security Appeals

Social Security Appeal Attorney

Knowledgeable and experienced, yet small enough to serve you.

The Social Security Administration has strict rules and procedures in determining eligibility for Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Most applications for these are rejected when they are first made. Applicants often find themselves bewildered by the complex rules of these programs and intimidated by the system.

Kielian & Walther are advocates for people whose SSD and SSI applications have been denied. Call us at 1-800-635-5712 or 312-663-0842 between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:30 pm to schedule a free consultation. A Social Security appeal attorney at our firm can explain the appeals process and how we may be able to help you obtain benefits.

The Application, Reconsideration, Hearing, and Appeals Process

Although complicated, the process of obtaining SSD or SSI benefits does follow a regular course:

Kielian & Walther typically offers their assistance to people who have already filed an application for benefits with the Social Security Administration.

If an application is denied, then the applicant can file a request for a reconsideration of the denial. At this point, an experienced lawyer can make a difference. Kielian & Walther can evaluate your situation, and if we believe that your disability or illness does qualify you for these programs, we can prepare a request for reconsideration on your behalf.

If the reconsideration is denied, then you can request a Social Security hearing before an administrative law judge. Our firm can represent you in this hearing with the aim of obtaining a favorable decision.

If the administrative law judge denies the case, we can request a review before the Appeals Council. This process is accomplished through documents prepared and submitted by Kielian & Walther. It does not require an appearance by the client or attorney.

If that fails, then the case can be taken to Federal District Court. A Social Security appeal attorney at our firm can represent you here as well.

As you can see, there are many stages at which you can receive a favorable result, so an initial denial of an application should not cause you to become discouraged. Kielian & Walther has succeeded at all levels of the reconsideration and appeals process. We will work to help you obtain the benefits which can help you live in dignity and security

To schedule a free initial consultation with a Social Security appeal attorney at Kielian and Walther, call 1-800-635-5712 or 312-663-0842 between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:30 pm.

Kielian and Walther handles SSD and SSI cases on a contingency basis. You do not owe a fee unless and until we obtain benefits for you.
